the introduction of the pirates + the cruise ship. It didnt flow as well as uncharted 2, it felt like some sections were just there to be set pieces and didnt actually fit with the plot, i.e. It has some amazing set pieces, and some sections are better than anything in uncharted 2, but taken as a complete game, it feels less than the sum of its parts, where as uncharted 2 felt like an experience that left you completely satisfied.

Whatever ending they originally wanted to do, would most likely have made the game my favourite on the PS3 of all time.Īmazing game, but ranks below uncharted 2 for me. I really wish, ND had been able to complete all they wanted to do with the story. What an amazing game as a whole, and truly a miracle to actually pull it off on such aged hardware as the PS3. Although it struggled at the end, still, it's my 3rd favourite game of all time on the PS3 (UC2, TLOU, UC3). The feeling I had about the ending is, they wanted to do a lot more, but ran out of time.
The ending didn't make a lot of sense and it made the game feel cut short. To have a supervillain with his villainmensch always 5 minutes behind you, gets lame.Īs for the ending, you could see the Dev team was tired by the end of the game, and probably had to cut a lot out they wanted to do with it. At least make dangers and threats that are relevant to the areas you're in - cursed undead would make sense for a temple, or bears, dogs, tigers/jaguars/panthers/spiders/whatever, a Yeti, you know, location-relevant stuff. All those fire fights getting out of that underground puzzle level? Really? They have some clairvoyant ability or GPS tracking chip that constantly knows where you are? Even when you're under a mountain? And it's the same old guys in the same suits over and over again with no variation? That doesn't make sense. The enemies got a bit tiring - I mean, how many parts of a splitting apart cruise liner will really have henchmen waiting, in mortal danger, just to engage you in combat? Enemies popped up in levels they really shouldn't have been in. The parts I thought lost their way were, the ending, and the enemies.
Still perfectly acceptable but, UC2 played better. I alternated playing the 2 back to back, and controlling Drake in UC2 was a little better than UC3. The bit that I did notice, was the handling of the controls was slightly worse than in UC2.
They took all that was brilliant about Uncharted 2, and polished it that extra bit to a blinding shine. And the Pirate parts? loved them! The technical improvements in graphics, sound, atmosphere were absolutely breathtaking. What an amazing game, the set pieces were incredible - what they did with the boat! WOW.
